Shaker Side Tables

This was the very first piece of “real” furniture that I ever built. I love the look of these side tables and the Shakers nailed it with something so simple yet so elegant. The tapered legs in my opinion make the piece, as without those it would look a bit chunky and heavy. Great project for building new skills. Mortise and tenon joinery, through dove tails, half blind dove tails, tapering the legs, hand beveling the underside of the table top with a jack plane, and drawer construction, And aside from the through dovetails all of those were new to me.
