Stick Chairs

The first time I ever heard of a “Stick Chair” was from Christopher Schwarz and his blog via Lost Art Press. At first glance I thought the chairs were a bit odd looking but then they really started to grow on me. I really liked the chairs but the actual thought of myself ever being able to build one seemed unlikely. In 2021 he released his book, The Stick Chair Book, and I read it from cover to cover and became even more fascinated with these chairs. In early 2022 I was fortunate enough to secure a spot in one of his week long Stick Chair classes and that is when I made my first one. (the light blue one below).

These chairs are completely hand made and because all of the shaping is done by hand, no two chairs will ever be identical. I also love the fact that they can be custom built for the end user specific to their height, width, and preferred seating angle.
